Close Brothers Premium Finance (CBPF) has launched real-time affordability decisioning for Acturis, enabling customers to receive an affordability outcome at the point they arrange premium finance.

The new capability marks a significant change to the customer journey. Previously, an affordability assessment could take place after a customer had completed the process of arranging their insurance and finance, potentially requiring the broker to contact them again at a later stage. Under the new process, the affordability assessment is integrated directly into the journey, with an outcome delivered in seconds while the customer is still engaged with their broker.

The rollout is being introduced initially through Acturis, with other software house integrations set to follow, including within their own proprietary lending platform, i-prompt.  The capability extends CBPF’s existing real-time affordability decisioning, that has been in place within their in-house system for a number of months.

The development follows CBPF’s previous investment in enhanced affordability assessments and forms part of a wider programme to simplify and improve the experience for brokers and their customers.

Allen Seldon, Director or Product at Close Brothers Premium Finance, said: “This is an important step forward in the way affordability assessments work for brokers and their customers. Customers want certainty when they arrange their insurance. By bringing affordability decisioning directly into the point-of-sale journey, we can provide an outcome in seconds. That gives brokers the information they need while they are still speaking to the customer and creates a much simpler and smoother experience.”

The rollout also supports CBPF’s ‘Built for Brokers’ campaign, which reflects our focus and dedication to helping brokers thrive. Built around our strengths in expertise, service and relationships, it demonstrates our commitment to supporting brokers and their sustainable growth. By integrating real-time affordability decisioning directly into existing broker workflows, CBPF is helping to make the journey simpler and more efficient for brokers and their customers.
