When I started at Close Brothers Premium Finance in 2010, I progressed within Customer Services pretty quickly. I started off answering calls but there’s so much room for development that by the end of my second year I was a team manager, supervising a number of staff. Being a Customer Services expert and being a naturally curious person meant I had a really good knowledge of the business and understood our systems really well.
It put me in a great position when I was offered the role of Change Analyst, looking at how our systems and people would be impacted by upcoming changes. In 2013 my role became more focused on business analysis which has given me the chance to work on lots of different projects and initiatives, and work with people from all over the company. I really enjoy that aspect of my job – every day is different and I never get bored!
This year, I was promoted to a full Business Analyst and I even won a Silver Employee of the Year award for my work on a big project to improve our customer communications. That’s what’s unique about CBPF – you’re rewarded for the good work that you do, and the progression and recognition scheme encourages you to make a career here, even starting from an entry-level position.
Head of Finance Change and Operations
I’ve always worked in finance but until I came to Close Brothers Premium Finance in 2006 as an accounts assistant, I wasn’t sure what area I wanted to specialise in. Thanks to discussions with my manager, I realised that I wanted to work in project management.
CBPF gave me on-the-job training by giving me the opportunity to manage projects within the Finance team, starting as a Project Analyst, then moving to a role as a Senior Business Analyst and finally a full Finance Project Manager.
I’m now Head of Finance Change and Operations, overseeing all projects within Finance, which has been an absolutely amazing experience. Thanks to CBPF, I know what my passion is – and I’ve been given the chance to gain the skills to do it. I’d really recommend it as a place to work because the opportunities for development are second to none.
Regional Sales Manager
I started my career at Close Brothers Premium Finance as an admin assistant and was promoted up through Customer Services to Head of Personal Lines Administration. After expanding my knowledge by working on some new product launches, I moved into Sales and am now the Regional Sales Manager for our Specialist Personal Lines division.
I love the fact that I get to be out on the road meeting our brokers on a day-to-day basis but still manage my own team and work strategically to drive our business forward – it’s the best of both worlds.
By demonstrating that I’m committed and motivated to develop, I’ve been given big and exciting opportunities for growth. They’ve been both stimulating and challenging, and I’ve always had access to any training I needed to be successful.
