UK Employee Experience Awards 2017

Close Brothers Premium Finance wins gold award for learning and development programme at the 2017 UK Employee Experience Awards

Close Brothers Premium Finance (CBPF) won an award at the UK Employee Experience Awards 2017 on Thursday 23 March, for their Ignite Development Programme.

CBPF was awarded GOLD in the Learning & Development category in recognition of their outstanding employee development programme, Ignite. The programme was designed to engage the millennials within the business, and contributed to significant improvements in employee engagement and career development scores in the biennial Employee Opinion Survey (EOS). Ignite was designed to aid individual growth within roles, through a 70-20-10 learning approach, and resulted in a majority of the cohort promoted internally.

Dan Thompson, COO of CBPF said:

“I am delighted that we were recognised at the UK Employee Experience Awards for our Ignite Development Programme. It is fantastic that our colleagues now have even more opportunities to develop their career within Close Brothers Premium Finance through the implementation of Ignite, and this award is testament to the hard work and calibre of our Learning & Development team and the individuals who are part of this initial cohort who made it such a success,” he said.

Lisa Midgley, Learning & Development Business Partner at CBPF, who spearheaded the programme, said she was thrilled to be bringing this award back to Close Brothers, after last year’s wins in other categories at the Employee Experience Awards.

“This is the first Learning & Development Award for the Bank, and to have our Ignite Development Programme recognised in such a way is a true testament to everyone’s hard work throughout the programme,” she said.

The fact that Ignitees participated in the finalists’ presentation to the judges meant a lot to James Henshaw, who joined the inaugural Ignite cohort in 2016.

“Considering Ignite was created to recognise our needs as employees, which include wanting the opportunity to add real value to the business, for members of the Ignite Development Programme to be included in the awards presentation demonstrates Close Brothers Premium Finance’s willingness and commitment to drive personal and professional development,” he said.

Now in its third year, the Employee Experience Awards recognise and reward outstanding achievement in employee experience across all sectors. The awards showcase the organisations, teams and individuals who are leading the way when it comes to delivering outstanding employee experience.

The winners were selected by a panel of judges made up of industry practitioners. During the morning, finalists in each of the categories presented their entries to the judges. Winners were then announced during a celebratory lunch in the afternoon.

The UK Employee Experience Awards is presented in partnership with Business Concierge, Cranfield School of Management, Awards International and CXM.
