Last week saw the launch of our Be Well, Be You programme which is designed to concentrate of the mental and physical well-being of our employees.
The programme – which is aimed at Close Brothers Premium Finance and Close Brothers Retail Finance employees – was launched with a week full of activities and events to keep mental and physical health and well-being front-of-mind.
The focus week included Mindgym workouts, a visit from Book People showcasing books on mindfulness, and a zen-out zone, where employees could relax and meditate. A visit from the local Nuffield Health Gym physician, a yoga session, and a Kick the Habit smoking cessation challenge kept us focused on the equally important physical health.
“Our employees’ well-being in the workplace is a really important issue to me,” said Sharon Bishop, CEO of Close Brothers Premium Finance and Close Brothers Retail Finance.
“One in 5 people in the UK have a mental illness, and as we’re at work for a great deal of our lives, it’s so important that we support one another in the workplace. Awareness of our overall well-being needs to become part of our everyday lives, and I’m so pleased this programme is helping promote that.”
The week also featured drop-in sessions for employees to learn more about the excellent benefits offered by the Group, an interactive online gratitude wall, and a day with hourly tips for well-being. The launch events culminated in a visit on Friday from Dogs for Good, who brought along three of their furry friends, who work as assistance dogs, family dogs and community dogs.
