Close Brothers Premium Finance partners with Wiser Academy for financial services apprenticeships and certification

At Close Brothers Premium Finance (CBPF), we are always looking for new and innovative ways to grow and develop our people, helping them expand their knowledge to reach their full potential. It’s important that our colleagues feel supported in their professional development, whether it be through apprenticeships, on-the-job learning or through certificated qualifications.
We are delighted to announce our partnership with official training provider Wiser Academy (part of Be Wiser Insurance), where our people have the opportunity to complete an apprenticeship in financial services or gaining their Certificate in Insurance qualification through the Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII).
“We are dedicated to the development of our people and want each person to have the skills, knowledge and experience required to do their job confidently and to the best of their ability, and we believe these apprenticeships will help them achieve that,” said Paul Trail, Sales Director at CBPF.
“By working with Wiser Academy for these qualifications, we can draw on their industry knowledge to give our people the insights to make them more commercially rounded and give them a deeper understanding of the insurance world.

At a time when the pressure to deliver the highest possible standards of service and treating customers fairly is crucial, it’s easy to agree that investing in staff development should be a fundamental focus of every business, says Crescens George, CEO of Wiser Academy.
“I am thrilled to see Close Brothers Premium Finance taking this pioneering initiative to invest in their employees; not only in the core skills of their day-to-day job but also on skillsets that their customers operate in, namely insurance.
“The speed at which the training team at Close Brothers Premium Finance got this initiative from an idea to implementation stage is testament to their passion and commitment to their brokers. Wiser Academy is only delighted to be a part of this great initiative,” he said.
The collaboration with Wiser Academy is kicking off with a cohort of six people from our Sales team, who have embarked on an 18-month programme which will see them gaining their CII Certificate in Insurance as well as an apprenticeship in financial services.

One of our colleagues, Aleisha Fowler has started on this training programme and has said she’s enjoying the experience. She says she’d highly recommend the apprenticeship to anyone who would like to develop a more rounded view of our industry.
“Working in a Sales environment and dealing with brokers daily, this will give me invaluable knowledge, and an understanding of the insurance industry from our brokers’ point of view. I am really excited to become a Senior Financial Services Advisor and to gain my Certificate in Insurance. Completing this with my colleagues as a cohort means that we get to share the experience and really support each other.
“The fact this training is provided by Wiser Academy is great as they are part of Be Wiser Insurance, a broker we have worked with for a long time and I know that they are true experts in this area,” she added.
